In 1805 the mill delivered the first oil to the Saint-Medardus church. In 1844 the oil mill was transformed into an oil and grain mill. The mill has been used in history for various functions, such as for driving flax breakers, sawing wood mills or driving grindstones. The mill remained in use until World War II. In 1946 the last miller left. The mill was protected as a monument on December 10, 1947. A brewery bought her in 1965 to establish a restaurant-dancing. Since 1979, the mill is owned by the city of Wervik. It lasted until January 1987 before the restoration could begin. In the annexes of 1864 and in a recent new building, the National Tobacco Museum is located. The mill has two pairs of rolling stones, three pairs of milling stones and an oat roller.. The National Tobacco Museum is now located in the mill and its adjacent buildings
