In Italy the Genius Loci project is focused in the Umbria Region, located in Central Italy. The first itinerary starts in the outskirts of Perugia, the capital of the Region, famous not only for its medieval and etruscan monuments and its landscapes immersed in greenery, but also for its traditional handicraft productions. In the following days we leave Perugia to visit Deruta, famous in the world for its centenary majolica art work, to go then to the vineyards and wine cellars of the Foligno and Torgiano territory to taste their excellent quality wines. The Route continue with a visit to the "Virtuelle Museum of Caprai textile arts ", with its interior 25,000 finds, to be counted as the most important private collection of textile arts in the world. This wonderful trip ends with the Hemp Museum, near Norcia, where there are tools for working and weaving, as well as the rich collection of textiles artifacts from the territory. The longest route will finally take us to the remote Umbria regions, at Castel Viscardo where we can admire the ancient brick manufacturing techniques and where we can also visit a craft workshop and participate in all stages of production from clay processing until the final product is cooked in the old wood-burning oven. We will conclude the trip to Montegiove with the visit of the charming castle, one of the oldest and best preserved in the region. Today it hosts a farm producing wines.
